Night time intruder!!!

i had an intruder in my bedroom last night, in fact he could still be here!
He was small and grey and very quick, I was crawling around the floor at 1.30am trying to catch him, but with no luck!
Are any other cat owners having problems now that spring is here and baby rabbit season is in full swing?
My cat is a bit of a super hunter. i put it down to him being from a feral litter. He is quite often bringing home 5+ rabbits a day. What annoys me is that he eats the bigger ones (well bits of them) but with the tiny babies he just brings them in and lets them go in the house. i have found them in all sorts of places. i had guests to dinner the other night, and we had just finished and moved to the sofa, when out shot a baby rabbit, it did 2 circuits of the room and then wedged himself back under the shelving unit!!
It isn't just rabbits either, I get rats (luckily these are usually dead), mice, voles, frogs, magpies, jackdaws and on one horrible occasion a baby little owl (not able to save it)
So what's the strangest thing your pet has brought home?

Re: Night time intruder!!!

2 birds, one alive, one dead and a mouse alive.

Weirdly, it's always the female who brings them in... the male we've got is a farm cat, we expected him to be a mouse / ratcatcher, i think he's too daft

Re: Night time intruder!!!

my cat Buzz was always bringing me 'presents' worse one was a bird still very alive he just stood there with it in his mouth the bird was just looking at me making this little cheep as if to say 'help'! managed to get buzz to drop it then had to get it out with the tea towel over the head to stop it flapping trick! worked and he lived to fly another day!

Re: Night time intruder!!!

My old cat kira used tobring home alsorts in various states , her fave was rats !!!! some were dead but intact , some were dead with no limbs or head , when she has kittens she would bring frogs for the kittens to play with poor things , the best though was one night a friend of mine and i had been out we were to say the least a bit worse for wear , we did the usual thing of kicking off our shoes and was making tea and toast in the kitchen , my friend was stood by the door when she stepped back into a dead rat entrails all over the place to say that she squieled was putting it mildly , she danced around the hallway almost crying , i on the other hand had slid down the kitchen cupboards laughing so much i think i wet myself .pmsl (literally)
