Angry Poorly Car

Thought i would share my misery with you.
My car broke down 2 days ago - head gasket blown. It was the garages fault as they diagnosed a failing ECU and let me continue to drive it

It has prob now caused more damage to the engine than was necessary.

Needless to say I have now taken it to a different garage especially as they quoted £500 to fix it eek:
The new garage have quoted £350 max which is more realistic

So im feeling down in the dumps about my car

Hmmm just a few probs then - good job you dont have to pay if its still in warranty!

Unfortunately mine is a bit of a banger now and me & my OH were gonna get new cars this year but because mine was still running well we decided to wait till next year. Wish we hadnt now. It also had a new clutch last month costing £200

Re: Poorly Car

Thats the problem with older cars you keep spending money on them, then one day something big happens and car gets scrapped and you think of all the money youve lostThats why we got 2 newer cars this year.

Yes you are right and thats what we were going to do - we just thought it might last a bit longer.

Its gets worse tho - garage just phoned me to say they had quoted on an 8 valve punto but its a 16 valve - so its now £100 more making the total £460
I suppose I cant complain - it has not cost me anything for the last 8 years
