Thinking of Dog Fostering

This prob sounds a bit mad but please hear me out. I love animals - have two lovely pussy cats and one lovely dog. Am getting a puppy retriever in summer time. also have two young kids but they love animals and are really good with them.
Work wise I am part time (so at home a lot) and work with special need children.
There are a lot of animals out there that need help - I would love to help them all but obviously can't.
Anyhow I am having a home check tomorrow to become a dog fosterer for labradors. They will be good for the kids and also for my special need children. Plus I get to help these lovely doggies.

What do you all think - have you ever fostered doggies or other animals..your views positive or negative would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Thinking of Dog Fostering

I think its a great idea.
Its far better for animals to be fostered than kept in kennels.

Kids, believe me, although they get attached they cope far better than the adults. Kids are really resilient

I know my girl would get too attatched, she wants me to have a friends cat that she is rather attatched to.
i think its a fab idea, nicer for animals to be in a home enviroment as opposed to a kennel.

Re: Thinking of Dog Fostering

Its a fantastic idea - my friend set a site up to chronicle her foster babies - heres the link

The PP's Foster Inn |

She said its brilliant when you get a scared, nervous little baby in and turn it around into a happy. waggy little bubba ready for its own forever home. Best of Luck
