Slow people on the phone

Is just me or does it really annoy you when people are slow on the phone.
I just called a friend to see if he wants to go to the pub tonight and the first thing he said was "this is going to be expenise I'm in Italy." So I said "ok then, have a nice time speak next week" and was about to hang up when he starts telling me its about to rain, I'm sounding well, did I go to the cinemea last week?
So I said "my phone bill, see you next week, bye" and hung up the phone!

And its not just him, when you arrange to meet up with someone for that night it really annoys me when they start telling you about their day and whats going on in their life when you only going to hear it all again down the pub in two hours anyway!

Oh and the people that tell you every little thing they are doing, instead of saying I'm cooking dinner, they are like just chopping onions, putting stuff in the oven. Why do I need to know that?

I tend to find that men are worse for this than girls, anyone agree??? Men either grunt and say nothing or wont shut up!

Re: Slow people on the phone

I hate using the phone I talk only when necessary, and only long enough to get the point of the phone call across. The only exception to this rule is when I'm speaking to people from back home, who I don't speak to very often, or my parents, who come under the back home rule, but I speak to them once a week or so.

I despise texting, I generally CBA to write long messages, and half the time I don't bother replying, it's easier

I get really agitated with people that phone my office and insist on telling me their life story, when all they want is a price, and when we can deliver... 5 minute conversation, tops! But they can turn it into a 15 minute marathon... WHY!

Ohh... I appear to be a bit touchy on the phone topic.. oops

Re: Slow people on the phone

At least I'm not the only one!!!

I used to work at as a receptionist for a swimming pool and once this really old man phoned and wanted to book his car in for a MOT! I kept saying that he had the wrong number and that he had phoned a swimming pool, but he kept phoning back everyday for nearly two weeks!! That got really annoying!!!

Re: Slow people on the phone

Im afraid im the one you love to hate I can chat for hours on the phone but only to my mum... I tend to want to get off the phone asap when its friends, and as for companies ringing me i dont speak to them, i just say "one second" and pass the phone to my 4year old. And as for texting, i make sure its all the characters of one text but never over 2txts even if i have to go all through the txt shortening words haha, penny pinching i suppose. What does annoy me is when i recieve a txt back saying "yep" or "ok" i think what a waste of a text hahaha
