How about this for annoying/ amusing....many moons ago when I was a singleton in my spankin new flat,,,,,BT connected my phone and gave me the number of the old police station...
So as you can imagine....people who hadn't updated their records kept calling...all times of day..middle of night 'cars been broken into..' Me half asleep 'who gives a f*ck?'
Then one day at work got home and my answer phone was full...some poor old dear had people outside her house kept harrassing her....she left umpteen messages...I actually phoned her back and gave her the PROPER number.

In the end I had to record a message on my ansa machine telling them i weren't the old bill!!

asif,,,,how annoying you should of conntacted BT straight away with your situation, they might of refunded you or gave you months free calling time for your troubles

NTL did a similar thing with me, but as they connected my number and repaired someone elses, the phone numbers got switched so one saturday night im mulling around at home..... Phone rang, "hello" and i got back from a rather hunky sounding guy "Hey gorgeous, we out for dinner tonight" i was rather shocked as i didnt know the switch had been made and replied with "well if i knew you maybe........but who the f**k are you!" lol, I dont know who was more embarrassed......Me or him! But i do know my mum was rather embarassed as she phoned me and wouldnt shut up to this girl who for about 10mins was trying to explain she wasnt me! hahaha
