Question Towing vehicle,4x4 or estate??

Hi we are trying to sell our landrover discovery es 3.9.v8,due to its rather bad mpg.I cant decide on what would be a suitable vehicle,it will be used to tow a horse trailer with 2 horses in, and a 20ft flat trailer.Ideally it will be fairly good in the mpg department, and be big enough to fit at least 5 people and baggage.what do you use and recommend?

Re: Towing vehicle,4x4 or estate??

we have a hyundi santa fe that does its job perfectly but is a little squishy inside if you have more than 4 people in but previously we had a ford explorer and could fit 2 dog cages in the back and have room for bags and boxes etc aswell as 5 people. it easily pulled our trailer with 2 horses in also but costed a fortune to run.
both are 4x4s

What ever you decide, you need to get a diesel, obviously better on fuel & much more low down torque which is ideal when pulling any weight.

Who can aford to tow with a petrol nowa days
