Was only told yesterday by the school that they will be on strike thursday! - Thanks!

Im wondering if they will be so understanding if I decide to go on strike and refuse to take him to school! W*****s.

My eldest is off but little 1 going to nursery part of same school but its open and a couple of the other classes are 2.

Weve had a letter home today saying the following....

Dear Parent/Carer,
Just a quick note to say that the school will not be affected by the teachers strike this week as most of our staff belong to a different union.

Yours sincerely *signature*

My reply is....... Is that supposed to make me feel better? how long before your union is striking also! I am lucky that my little one will be attending school tomorrow and friday, as its hard enough she is off next week with the voting day! And its lucky too as i have so many places to be tomorrow its unreal, I feel so sorry for you if your children are off school, and hope you have suitable care that will take on your children at such short notice, Do some of these strikers (not just teachers) realise, we have to make a living too..... I say...... Lets all not pay dinner money for a few weeks to make up for the wages we shall be losing!!

Its not even bargain day at the cinema so im not going there! I dont know what we're gonna get up to

Everybody come bombard my daughters school im sure they will understand

I'm gutted - all my university lectures aren't striking, so another full day of lectures tomorrow! I would quite appreciate the time off

Thats just it, I couldnt believe they had only given in theory a days notice.
Im lucky as I work from home but I feel sorry for the ones that need to make arrangements at the last minute. Its very bad and its not like they didnt know it was happening.
