Red - someones hates you
Green - someones wants to be friendly
Gray - someones OK with you but too "young" for the Forum to be green....

Green = Positive Rep (Adds to your reputation points)

Red = Negative Rep (Takes away from your reputation points)

Grey (Sometimes called purple) = Neutral Rep (Has no effect on your reputation points)
