it doesn't make you sound terrible. If you want to eat them then go ahead and if somebody doesn't wnat to then that is their right. Thankfully, we are lucky to make these choices

My OH eats meat and whe we go out to a dinner I have to sit opposite him whilst he cuts into a bloody steak (really). It makes me feel sick but I won't it there gagging and I won't read him the riot act. We all have our choices in life

Re: Been a veggie for nearly a month now :)

yeah i'm all about the choices.
I choose not to be veggie or vegan because its not right for me at the moment. People should never feel they should do soemthing just because its deemed as bad, they need to feel compelled enough to do something else they'll never stick at it.

Well done for giving up the flesh! Couldnt do it myself tho, smelling bacon or steak being cooked without having some would drive me batty, and hubby would do his caveman impression of banging the table and crying "man need meat man hunter" yea right he goes the butchers for me now and then

Can I just congratulate every vegetarian, vegan, vulcan and Venezualan (couldn't think of another "v") on here for being able to summon up the strength to get to the computer and write something. I know you don't have much strength or energy so well done. You can all lie down and have a rest before the lentils are boiled.

ONLY JOKING!!! DO NOT TAKE A FENCE, YOU'LL ONLY MAKE THE POSTS LOOK STUPID!!

Here they come, any minute now..........

Seriously, it was only a bit of light hearted humour with no put downs meant or anything. I am an omnivore, but I understand why you choose to not eat meat or animal products completely.

It's up to you what you do

I gave them up due to guilt and because in my heart, it's wrong. But people are allowed to make choices without feeling guilty

And to hutch6 - I'm not going to have a go at you. But at the end of the day, humans no longer need meat as part of their diet, it's been proven scientifically. Wether you choose to or not though is your choice, just like it's my choice to choose not to eat meat
In my opinion, giving up meat is much harder than giving up smoking So i feel a real sense of acomplishment

Wish I was a proper veggie. I don't eat meat or fish but I don't particularly like many veg either, soya substitutes give me a bad stomach and as for lentils I do like cakes and biscuits and crisps though which makes me a fat little veggie I do however seem to have more energy than my omniverous family - lazy beggars! Not sure if that has anything to do with what they eat though!

I have grown two heads and I wold love to eat my workmates!!!!
Couldn't live without quorn, absolutely addicted to their new "chicken" & mushroom pie, can't stand the bacon though, it's like eating cardboard
