Iams pet food

I have just been approached by the local newspaper to place an advertisement in conjunction with Iams pet food company in aid of national pet week IAMS and animal testing.

I explained that in no way would I wish my company to be associated with a company that torchers animals and sent various links for him to read.

Just wondered if Iam's barbaric research is known and if anyone still uses their products.

Re: Iams pet food

Sadly Iams is the tip of the mountain!! I use no products tested or ingredients tested on animals in my home because I luckily was educated by my parents about the common practice of testing on animals in this country. Unfortunately most people are unaware of what goes on.

Re: Iams pet food

I wasn't aware of IAMS policy of animal testing until I joined this site and was not aware of the extent until I read the link on Nina's post. It is disgusting that such experiments can legally be carried out! I am not against animal testing per se - it has resulted in many drugs which would not otherwise be available - but to perfect a cat or dog food is totally wrong. I had stopped using IAMS but will now actively avoid it and recommend that others do so too.

You too had hippy parents?!! Great fun but didn't make life 'normal' as a kid!!

Iams tested most of their animal feeds on dogs and cats, to the point of them dying in agony. I'll only feed my dogs raw meat at least that way while I know the animal has died to feed them at least it's a bi-product of human consumption and not specifically killed for my dogs.
