Hi guys, please check your driving liscences is in date,

Alot of the card licences are only valid for 10 years!!!!!!

My hubby is in the police and he got a email this morning asking all police officers to check theirs as so many people have fallen into the trap of thinking that they expired when they turned 70!!!!!

I know, my hubs lost his paper bit so had to apply for a now one... it's only valid for 10 years...in northern ireland it is against the law to drive a car without having both parts of your license on you!!

the only reason they have made it every 10 years is so you update the picture. mines not due yet thank god. but yu would think the dvla would send out reminders

Mine was a paper one but just changed it as we moved a while back so know im fine for a while. Its quite a big fine now if yours is out of date

What a great post...I have still got the paper licence which is valid until i'm 70. My o/h lost his and i tld him and my grandson to check theirs because of this post, we have just found out that my o/h's runs out in 2011, but we thought his would be until 70 years of age as this was on his original licence only to find out this isnt the case.mad: this bloody country makes me sick, i can see now why so many youngsters don't bother...THANKS so much for bringing this to out attension.
