our smoke alarms are wired to the mains too.. wouldnt be without them cos have been in a fire and it very frightening, was 8 months pregnant and lived on second floor and firemen were on a false call,luckly no one was hurt but flat was ruined. the fire was set delibratley by the old lady living downstairs to us... so if you havent got a smoke alarm GET ONE and if you got them CHECK THEM...

we have one in every bedroom & one on the landing & did have one in the hall but oh took the kitchen door offdont ask me why!!! n the dam thing went off every 5mins so took the battery out! also have a carbon monoxide alarm but needs new batteries as of yest! better 2 be safe than sorry xx

Always, this is very important! I don't know how many people have died in house fires by A, not having any, or B, not checking to see it was working etc...!
