Anyone NOT having turkey for christmas dinner?

Just wondering how many of you out there are doing something different for Christmas dinner?

We normally have turkey, but this year there's only going to be 3 of us (the whole shooting match are coming on boxing day instead this year), so we've got a goose instead. It's a bit smaller than a turkey, although not much...

Re: Anyone NOT having turkey for christmas dinner?

I've aalways wanted to try goose for Christmas but have never had the guts, we always have a 12 lb Turkey and a bacon joint as I make so much from it after though I think the dogs will help this year!!

How do you cook a goose? I've never tried!! Probably because I named ours, we had Ma and Sydney (after darling buds of may) so I always thought of them! I think I could do it now though!

I'm assuming i can just chuck it in the oven and have all the usual trimmings we have with turkey?

Re: Anyone NOT having turkey for christmas dinner?

I might be wrong but on te BBC2 sunday morning programme 'something for the weekend' they are going to do a bird in a bird etc to show how it's done, it's on at 10am or maybe 9, not sure but they said they would do it before Christmas!! I'd not do it this year but it would be handy to know how it's done!!
