Exclamation BonFire Night Warning

Bonfire Night is soon aproaching I know most people are aware of how scared the Animals can be but please check any bonfires that you are doing before lighting them and that there are no Hedgehogs or small animals ect hiding in it as they may well find their way in to keep warm from the cold? and goes without saying to make sure all your Pets are safe in doors

Re: BonFire Night Warning

yes i agree and the animals get scared with all the loud bangs makes me jump let alone the poor Animals, but some people dont always think of the wild creatures out there and i have heard in the past how kids tie bangers to the tails of poor cats and dogs

Re: BonFire Night Warning

My O/H hates bonfire night , or for that matter any fireworks on any occasion with good reason , he was at an organised event for work 3 years ago and at the end of the drive in movie they launched fireworks for the wow factor and they went wrong , a whole pile or industrial size rockets exploded at the base of the tubes sending debris in all directions , luckily for the event organisers there were only minor injuries nothing that needed hospitalisation other than that is my O/H .

He had a rocket hit him in his shin that had been sent carearing across the floor , at first when he caled me he said i may need a few stitches < if only that was the case .
5 weeks in hospital , and extensive reconstructive plastic surgery to his shin , a spiral fracture that ran the entire length of his tibia , and he is still under the pain management clinic at selly oak hospital 3 years down the line . So other than making sure our furry friends are kept safe please make sure we all stay safe too .

Re: BonFire Night Warning

Andrea - How awful for you're OH and you.

I have a friend who was in the army and he gets freaked out by fireworks

Must admit I love fireworks - but only at well organised events

We went to an "organised" event a few years ago and I felt is was so dangerous I left with my kids.

But great point rottiesloveragdolls we need to remember all the wild and feral animals as well - As much as I love fireworks I really believe they shouldn't be sold to the public. I think if an event wants fireworks they should have to apply to the council and employ proffesional licensed firework people.
