Should Fireworks Be Banned?

Following on from this thread, do you think fireworks should be banned or restricted to organised events?

I think they should be banned outright.

Re: Should Fireworks Be Banned?

I think they should be banned yes.. it's too easy for kids to get hold of them these days, and some of the horror stories are horrible, knowing that some of these incidents could easily be prevented if they were banned

Re: Should Fireworks Be Banned?

NOOO! I love fireworks, I don't think there should be a total ban at all!!! That's like banning all dogs because of some idiot owners!

I think there should be a license to use them. No places like corner shops selling them to people over the counter, that IS pretty stupid IMO.

Maybe there should also be a time restriction on them because they are used pretty much constantly from October 1st through to New Year it seems and THEN the whole of the summer here too... Also the a'holes that let them off after 10-11pm at night waking my kids up get on my nerves!!!

But anyway, licensed use ONLY!

Re: Should Fireworks Be Banned?

They should be banned without a doubt. A few weeks ago a letter arrived in the postbox about a small event which may include some fireworks from a house down the road. About 12.00 at night I was laying bed and it seriously sounded like the fireworks were outside! More like bombs going off. I couldnt find the sheep for ages as they were hiding and needless to say extremely scared. Luckily we didnt loose any hens but one of the dogs was so scared and she isnt normally.

If fireworks get in the hands of the wrong people they will cause mayhem with them, if fireworks get in the hands of people who know what they are doing they can still cause serious harm to others and animals.

People need to relise they are playing with gunpowder!!! NOT A WISE MOVE

Re: Should Fireworks Be Banned?

Much too dangerous to trust nutters with and you can never tell who the nutters are so ban them for general public but lets have organised events run by people who are responsible and are well trained in the use of explosives - cos thats what they are.

Re: Should Fireworks Be Banned?

we have a small fireworks factory right near us , and one of the idiots who make them live in our road and they always have a huge party on special occasions (bonfire, halloween , xmas , birthdays, anniv , you name it) , you wouldnt believe how bloody loud they are , they shake the windows ... Bud was always terrified of them , im hoping Toff wont be the same , cos it used to break my heart watching Bud shake in terror and not be able to comfort him (id heard that makes the dog more worried)
To top it all , they are friends with my next door but one neighbour who also has these loud things going off on those nights ... so we get double the racket

Outright ban is what I voted
