Re: Dissapointing Responses

I have been part of these threads today and I have aired my opinion BUT i did not slag anyone off (i dont think ) I managed to get my points across and listen to the op's points aswel.
Just because I disagree with what is happining does not give me or anyone else the right to judge the op or people who do not agree with us x

Re: Dissapointing Responses

Thats why i've not been bothering with the cat section much to be honest. I am happy to help anyone and give advice from any knowledge i've aquired over the years, but quite frankly I find some of the threads either asking stupid questions or quite insulting at times, with people making uncalled for remarks at each other I have made quite a few lovely friends on here and it's a shame some people have to spoil things for others. Rt off my soap box now and back to the fun

Re: Dissapointing Responses

If i personally have made any of you feel uncomfortable i am sorry,i did say to you Claire that imo this is part of what forums are for to share views, experiences and opinions-i however can do this without namecalling or swearing etc and sometimes responses aren't all going to be sweet and light and cookies baked with love-,i feel some of you have taken to much to heart certain posts off 1 or 2 peeps and assumed every person on the cat section or the majority are horrible-most of us are not we are passionate as everyone is about our beliefs and views reguarding our pets, i sincerley hope you do come along and join in as the person whom i think your referring to who name called Clare for her job doesn't usually grace this section-and yes some of our views in response to Clare's thread were harsh but she knew this when she opened up this topic for discussion and believe me she can give it out tooAlso the quotes from Mrs D and Yourself were unfair and to lighten the mood so to speak is why i responded sarcastically-which from my point of view-if i'd generalized a group you were a part of in this way i'm sure you would also have posted something that would have been removed or as i did a sarky remark

I think that is the sort of thing why this thread was started in the first place. I think everybody on this forum can handle a healthy debate, and everyone knows that there are bound to be disagreements but we all need to learn to agree to disagree, and while we might not agree with everyone's point of view we do have to respect what has been said.

I think when people start throwing personal insults and attacks around freely the fun and friendlyness gets lost in amongst the anger which would be a shame because there are plenty of friendly, helpful people on here.

Re: Dissapointing Responses

I did not open this thread to start pointing fingers, if you notice I was very careful not to say what thread or who I felt were the main culprits. And it was not only one thread.
I have no problem with fair discussion, my point was merely that blatent insults are not nessacary and do not help one get ones point across.

[quote=Siamese Kelly;216621]Also the quotes from Mrs D and Yourself were unfair QUOTE]

Is this 'you' in this statment me? I am a little confused I cannot find any insults that I may have said, of course I apoligise if I did.
I have gone through all my most recent posts, and the only thing I can think of is when I was explaining somebodys quote, at no point did i agree nor disagree with what was said, I was simply pointing out where it had come from. But of course if this was misconstrude as something else I apologise to everybody involved.

Those that read the posts I was reffering to in my original message should be well aware of the insults I was referring too. But I must add one more time just for clarification, this was thread was not started to point the finger, I do not think that will help anything at all.

I agree that most people in the cat section do not behave in this way, and I think some people were just out to provoke the situation, I try and bite my tongue when things are said, but I think we all crack at some point.

I would like to give an example without quoting someones post.
For example - "I cannot agree with what you are doing, have you ever considered x, y and z."
is far more constructive than - "Well I think what you are doing is evil and disgusting!"

I am not trying to dictate, and I am sure many times I have posted things that are not exactly angelic, but I try not to get into a habbit of throwing blatent name-calling. Of course we all have to be able to take critisim for the sake of freedom of speach.

If you made it to the end of this post, thanks for reading

Re: Dissapointing Responses

Well it's in the right place is it not?? This being a cat forum like, one would maybe expect catty remarks

Sorry people, I am not trying to be disreprectful, just could not resist my feeble attempt at being witty!

Seriously, I'm new to this forum and everyone seems so friendly, don't soil you days being nasty to each other.
Stay happy and have a bright sunny day everyone!
