In most forum this type of system is used for giving rep to someone who has made an excellent post, not just to give randomly to your friends. Makes the whole thing pointless when you do it like that, IMO.

In other words, since you all just like to rep your friends for the fun of it, all those squares after your names don't mean anything at all.

Well I was thinking that too actually - praps it's quality rather than quantity that counts but then I am new to forums and repping!

I agree - seems pointless if you just do it for no reason - as a newbie to forums I thought it was an indication of the feeling/respect towards a person - really its just a waste of time?

Not for everyone, nearly all my rep has been for either good advice or making someone laugh, yes I do get more from certain people but that is because they read more of my posts.
Also I never give rep unless it's earned

I've had most of my reps with lovely remarks and not from all the same people.Mostly when i get into a good debate. lol
