Attaching Photos : Please Read

Hi Everyone,

When you are adding photos to your posts, please could you add them as attachments, rather than inserting them as images. Adding them as attachments will display them as thumbnails on your post so that users can click on them to enlarge. This will speed up page loading times and also save on bandwidth as the full images wont be loaded unless a visitor clicks on it.

To add as an attachment you can either click on the 'Paperclip' icon in the message editor top menu or click on the 'manage attachments' button below where you type in your message.

Hi,

I would prefer it if the photos where hosted on our website and attached as thumbnails, due to a couple of reasons.

1) If hosting on other websites, if they then remove the photos, they would appear as errors on our site and you wouldnt be able to view the photo. If hosted on our site, we will never remove the photo. I have noticed in the past on a few threads, people have hosted their photos on an external site and then because the external site has removed them, the thread then looks a bit messy and you cant view the original images, so it makes the thread abit useless.

2) There are some changes being made to PetForums soon, where when thumbails are clicked on they will be displayed in a more eyecatching way.

If anyone knows users who dont attach the photos as thumbnails please could you let them know in future, that would be great.

Hi,

Just to let people know, that I have also just increase the Photo size limit to 4MB now. This should be enough for most photos taken by high quality modern cameras.

is it ok to use photo bucket if you want to show a vide of your pets as there isnt a way of uploading them directly to this site as yet?
