As I am not allowed to make a PM until I have reached 25 posts, I have no alternative but to place my query here.

My very first post - an Introduction was stopped until a Moderator approved it. Now my second post dealing with a specific subject has been stopped in the same way.

Would somebody please advise me if ALL our posts are to be subjected to scrutiny by a Moderator before being allowed entry to the Forum ?

If this is so, then participation becomes impractical and the smooth running of a community Forum discussion dialogue made impossible.

I'm not sure of the current forum settings, but they were changed a few months back as there had been an influx of trolls & banned members returning, whose sole purpose was to cause trouble on here

I think you will find it is because the site has been plagued with spammers and banned members coming back posting either spam or being nasty.

Until the mods are sure your posts are genuine,they will be checked first I guess.

Not everyones posts are put in a moderation queue, this is usually done automatically if your first post contains some links, this is because the forum thinks you may be a spammer.

I take it your posts on going straight on the forum now?

Every forum I have ever joined has a minimum number of posts before you are allowed to post links, so if that is what happened, that is why it was scrutinised. We have had a lot of spammers, some trying to lead you to all sorts of obscene and irrelevant links, as well as some copy and paste jobs just to get their link in.

I understand every one of your points and certainly the reasons for the unfortunate security delay of approval forced upon you to which I am being subjected. I was so surprised to have this hit me.

It is not the delay alone which concerns me, it is the fact that conversational comments are directly proportional to time. A comment made at a point in time is very relevant, but if withheld and released later may be absolutely meaningless or even wrong due to conversation progression. If I post "Good Morning" and it is released after mid-day, it becomes completely wrong.

Contrary to one comment, I have only had this kind of thing happen about twice in all my twitterings on the web over many years. Almost all of my posts covering a large number of sites have gone immediately live.

I did post an image of my dog in the first introduction post and I think referred to a link in another.

As of early today - 8th Jan., NO my two new posts were still affected, but on checking, these two posts are now listed and are OK at 22.00, 8th Jan.

Thank you all. I feel I have become a loose cargo on my first flight, through no intentional fault of my own.

Its a forum not a chat room, so delays are common and expected, hell we have timezones that are diff as well, so it doesnt matter thatr part and some mods have a life this time of year with familys on holidays, so it maybe wont be as quickly approved as a busy time. Im always a loose cargo, so you'll feel at home
