Stickys

I wonder whether viewing stickys could be optional?!

In Dog Chat, for example, half the page is taken up with stickys and its a shame that many recent posts get pushed to page 2 because of this.

Just a suggestion

Re: Stickys

Most of them are full of spam and advertising posts as well.

Re: Stickys

I like stickies - I think some of them contain some really interesting and helpful information that is nice to have at one's fingertips. But I do agree that dog in particular is sticky-heavy (with calls for more threads to become one). Perhaps as an alternative to making them optional could I suggest a cull?

Re: Stickys

in a way they are handy like the Dog Food INdex ones for the people that don't know as much about the foods available. If the option was there to turn stickys off then newcomers might not even see them. Just my opinion though

Cinnebar is on a distinguished road
Re: Stickys

I use new posts as well, which is why I got wrong for answering a post about 'children' without realising it was on the cat forum not general chat. I do try and remember to check now before responding to anything

Re: Stickys

So how do I set it so I don't see them?

In my options I've selected to only show me posts from the last 2 days, but all the stickys are still there

I agree their useful for new members, but then there should be an option to turn them off. Or collapse them somehow.
