How does ignoring work??

I get that you can put someone on ignore but do they know about it??
I suppose it means their posts just dont show up to you..but then how do you know if something is missing??

Just wondering if its possible to be on a thread and think it makes no sense coz the mods have edited it and really half the people there are ignoring you!!LOL
(not that Im paranoid or anything....)

Re: How does ignoring work??

Good point... I think ignore only applies when someone sends you a PM or visitor message. Not sure about the actual forum posts itself.

Re: How does ignoring work??

Edit profile, left hand side you will find edit ignore list. If you put a members username in there and click save changes if your on a thread they are on you can't see their post, you can't see messages by them on Walls and they can message you via pm. I know, have a few on ignore myself.

Re: How does ignoring work??

I don't see the point of ignore. It's like closing your ears and saying "lalalalalala" like we did at kindergarten.

Yes, unfortunately some folk behave like they're still at kindergarten, so they're best ignored

Re: How does ignoring work??

some more ignore questions - if you have someone on ignore so you can't see their posts in threads, can they still see yours though? And if the one you are ignoring starts a thread can you not see the whole of the thread at all?

Don't actually have anyone on ignore was just a random thought that crossed my mind - I prefer to just read & ignore as I like to know what I am ignoring

Re: How does ignoring work??

If you have someone on ignore and they post, you will only like a 'header' that this person has posted but you cant see what they have written coz you have them on ignore, but thenm if you do wanna see it there is a link you can click on to see it without going through the faff of taking them off ignore altogether.

There - did that help or confused.com even more???
