MODS - Kit review section?

Would it be possible to have a kit review section where people post reviews of any new equipment that they have bought as there are always threads asking for recommendations?

I have canvassed opinion and think that it would be used: Kit review section

I did think about that too; just with the amount of 'what harness', 'what collar' etc threads we get I thought it might be a good idea to put things in one place. The amount of folk who have the same products on here is quite big, so thought that the feedback would be balanced - for folk who don't like an item, thought there would be others that did.

Not sure if there would be a way of only being able to post on it with a minimum post count (say 50?) to stop anyone joining just to promote their own product / discredit others. I have been on quite a few sports forums where the kit review sections seem to work well. Just an idea though, but if it's rubbish I'm quite happy to forget it!

we wouldn't be able to do that. If we could.. The mods wouldn't have to moderate so many posts/threads every day..

I would just be worried that some one would use it to make negative feedback to some companies..

Re: MODS - Kit review section?

Sounds like a good idea to me. I know I've ask here for a few recommendations on different kit items.

It's one thing to go into P@H and look at their collars, leads or harnesses and have a feel. But if its something online, you want to ask if anyone has tried the item of kit or if a particular online company is reliable.

That's certainly understandable. But can't people do that anyway on a lot of the threads asking about what item to get? People say that things are rubbish fairly often in those.

Maybe we could give it a whirl and pull it if misused - put some rules in a sticky at the top? (I am happy to work on those and PM them to you for approval if needed).

I recently wrote a review but didn't know where to put it. Also, a rating system would be cool.

I give this thread 5 thumbs up out of 5!

I would be happy to work out some rules and a rating system (for stickies) and PM MoM for approval of them first.....I do understand your reservations as a mod though MoM!!
