Re: more privacy on the forums

I think making general chat accessable only to members would be good.
The pet forum areas I think should be open otherwise no-one would join.
I joined after googling and coming across the site and reading all the great advice and pet chat.

Re: more privacy on the forums

I also think it would be good to just have the new members area and the pet areas open to read for everyone. I only joined for pet things and although I don't post much at all, so am probably not often noticed I do enjoy reading the general section. There is a friendly feel in thoses sections most of the time. I' sure the friendly feel would be increased if it wasn't for random people joining only to use thoses sections. Perhaps a number (10?) of posts need to be made in the pet area before you can see/join general.

Re: more privacy on the forums

It's a long shot but I know that some forums have a policy where by members can only see threads once past a post count mark. Obviously the animal threads are what people come here for but maybe the GC section should be for some sort of veteran section, as I imagine it's where a majority of more personal information lies.

Not everyone might like this but it's a thought.
