Question a polite request to unlock a thread?

mod Tashi locked a perfectly civil thread this afternoon, after One Person posted FOUR posts -
talking to [her][him]self, as no one else replied! how can there be an argument of one person?
Pet Forums Community - View Single Post - the CM / DW public-relations empire

please consider unlocking what had been a civil discussion? particularly as the person is now banned, and will not
be resurfacing [at least with that ID] again? i would also like to ask that those 4 posts be deleted; they add nothing,
and removing them will not remove anything important.
thank U,
- terry

Re: a polite request to unlock a thread?

I can see why Tashi locked it, trying to ensure that it didnt turn into a argument. After all that poster was obviously gunning for a argument.

Maybe now he's banned it will be unlocked?

i think that would be nice - there is the possibility that someone would have a worthwhile question, comment, etc,
and it seems a shame to throw baby & bathwater out together. taking off the incendiary/provoking posts
would be perfectly acceptable, since nobody can argue/discuss with someone who is gone, anyway -
and most of ? his? posts were scattershot and not very logical, anyhow.

Question Re: a polite request to unlock a thread?

it's been a week - and the thread is still locked.
there were 138 polite posts before that rude eejit [who is now banned]
came & slapped 5 posts on the end, looking to stir the pot.

can't we please scrap the rude posts, and re-open the thread?
thanks,
- terry

Re: a polite request to unlock a thread?

I wish this over-eagerness to close threads would stop. Surely it can't be necessary to close or delete threads the instant someone disagrees with someone else. I get fed up with posting, then looking for replies only to see that the thread has gone.

Arrow nice answer: None; just strip the thread

that's because the mods or Admin, in their wisdom, removed the entire 138 post thread -
rather than leave it up, locked, or as i had asked, remove the pugnacious & rude posts -
FIVE of them - from a now-banned member, that caused Tashi to lock it.

which of course is score One for the troll, who was doing nothing but dig up old threads about his hero,
and start nasty arguments full of snide remarks and illogic. so... the troll is gone, but achieved their mission,
with the help of the mods or Admin: removing criticism of their idol.

Lightbulb by the way, the troll's name...

was DELIR - as in 'delirious' - if U want to sample their incendiary style.
there are still 3 or 4 threads with posts from the poison-pen.

Hi, Thanks for clearing that up , If nothing else, it proves to the Trolls that they will not be tolerated, I think the Mods do a great job in acting quickly and efficiently . wayne.
