Question Using GIF images as an Avatar

I have seen a few people using Gifs (moving images) as their avatars. I have tried uploading a GIF image as my avatar, the picture shows up but like a normal Jpeg, but doesn't move?

Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Using GIF images as an Avatar

Ok, just uploaded another one of my saved GIF images to my avatar, it shows but isn't animated like it should be like this:

Clueless and a few other people (can't remember their names) have a moving image in their avatar, so why doesn't it work?

Re: Using GIF images as an Avatar

LOL, seems that way!

The first image I tried the other day was through a web address, I didn't upload it from my PC... and it didn't work. So I uploaded it through the browse button and it still didn't work.

Just tried another web one and it seems to have worked! But, I made sure I found one that is less than 80 x 80 pixels, so maybe that's why they haven't been working?

Well I think I have finally worked it out, but the problem is all the ones saved on my PC are over 80 pixels lol, so in a way still haven't gotten anywhere lol

I will probably end up going back to one of my original photos too
