i have been advised that my 55G tank needs to be treated for septicemia. It was only discovered by me this morning--my 2 lavender gouramis have it and need medicine. Upon closer inspection, i am inclined to say that some of my other gouramis are in the early stages as well. The lavendar gouramis (most evident) show a bloody color in the beginning of his side fins (where your armpit would be if you were a fish.) I am treating with pimafix but i don't know if it will be effective as the pet store did not have marison-2. I don't know how this happened or how i can avoid devestation--any help would be highly appreciated!
