![]() can they live with guppies do you think? Argh i am gettin so confused bout what fish to have! I am having guppies, platys mallies in my 2.5ft tank so I want something bigger but still colerful in my 5ft tank. going to the garden centre today so going to have a look at what they have. my oh wants marine tank i said no. x

The secret to success is good water quality, so long as you can keep the water parameters within acceptable limits then these fish aren't as difficult as some people make out, there are more difficult species out there such as Chocolate gouramis.
Captive bred fish are generally hardier than wild-caught specimens and they will easily adapt to your tapwater so long as it isn't too hard. They can be mixed with other fish very easily and most tetras, dwarf cichlids and small catfish such as corydoras all make suitable tankmates. I've kept a group of Heckels in a 6ft tank with a group of wild-caught Pencilfish and a pair of Apistogramma nijessni. |
