Where is the ideal place to keep a fishtank...?

When we sited our tank I remember it was very important to make sure it wasn't in direct sunlight (this promotes algea growth and can affect temperature) ,or where there were dramatic changes in temperature eg. by a radiator. Obviously it needs to be somewhere where you can enjoy looking at it.

Well, on my instructions it says out of direct sunlight and from radiators, and also away from vibrations and loud noises. I just turn my blinds the other way so they're not in the direct sunlight as mine are going on my desk.
