Help on euthanising my fish
I've had quite a turbulent time with my fish tank in the last couple of weeks. I had white spot disease on most my fish (this has thankfully now been cured!!)
My pangasius cathfish had an ulcer on its side (the aquatic centre gave me some medicine but it didn't work). It has now turned into a big hole on its side. It also had fin rot and pretty much its whole fin on one side has now disappeared. It has been lying on the gravel for a day and a half, when I gently nudge back up the right way it swims off (I think it can't push itself up because it only has one fin). Most of today it has been in the same position and just seems to be panting. He looks quite distressed so I think the best thing for him (considering the condition he is in) is to euthanise him. I've read that clove oil and vodka is the best way. I don't have either of those indoors so wondered if there was another way or whether to just get some tomorrow. Any thoughts would be welcomed. (more of the story is in my other post which is a couple under this one - I've struggled with water quality and would also really like some help on this) Last edited by kelassa; 01-01-2012 at 05:01 PM..
