Confused

i have a male sailfin mollie and i bought him 2 females as company.. but they turned into males?? so i took them back to work and bought another 2 females... but now they are males??

is it possible for them to change sex or am i just going insane?? and if it is possible... what is doing it?

I'm with hawksport on this one, young male livebearers don't normally develop external features such as the rod-shaped anal fin (gonopodium) until they mature. They could have matured whilst inside your aquarium, depending on how long you've had them for.

Have you asked the aquatic store roughly how old they were when you purchased them?

i work there! not sure how old they are but they are about an inch long when we get them in
