im breeding clownfish

ive been keeping marine fish for awhile now and ive kept everything from clownfish to bamboo sharks and ive decided to do something a little differant now im gonna breed clown fish so ive done the research and ive set up the main breeding tank its a 100litre tank (2ft but tall) a heater and a standed internal filter theres no live rock and no sand there is a light and i might install a bubble blower im gonna put a normal kitchen tile in there for the clowns to spawn on the only thing i need now is a small tub to put the larvae (babys) in i also have the task of breeding live food called rottifers for the babys to eat lol so as things move on i will update you all

Re: im breeding clownfish

Sounds like you have everything sorted out but you'll need a bigger tank (or maybe 2 or 3) for the fry with a small air-powered sponge filter to provide some circulation.

With proper care and a constant supply of food (in this case, the rotifers) you should be able to expect a survival rate of 60%. When I first bred them, none of my first batch survived, hopefully you'll have more luck.

If you run into trouble with the food supply, give me a shout.

Re: im breeding clownfish

The night they are due to hatch don't let any light fall on the eggs. It can delay the hatch for another day and they will die in the egg.
