I st up my tank with the 3D background, and air pump (for my veiwing pleasure lol) .

Now I had a friend with the same filter as me in a well established tank (been up and running a couple of years) however she was shutting down tank to move house and had sold her remaining fish.


So I filled up the tank and collected some water from her and the filter sponges and whatever the other grey balls are called.


But I haven't got my gravel or plants yet!


Will it matter??

I plan to wash the gravel thoroughly a handful at a time, and will be adding a mix of fake and live plants.


How ling after that do I need to leave it for before adding tetras?

Is the filter media now in the filter and the filter running?

Yeah I put it in my filter and started running it the same day so it didn't dry out.

In that case then I would get a couple of fish in as soon as posible, all those bacteria need feeding
