I have alway had big filters anyway because of the pleco's (messy sods)
but I think the bigger the better is it adjustable??? if it is just slow the rate of flow down

The Juwel 'Black box' filters (as some call them) have always been big, however the pump flow rate is quite low, making it ideal for live plants as the reduced amount of surface agitation prevents essential CO2 from being driven off.

Oh, thats good!! Its my first tank and I want it to do well. Am planning on slightly understocking with smaller thin bodied fish to keep waste down.
Its actually quite sad that Im enjoying just watching the tank with no fish in!! I like to watch the plants and try to see who is growing well!LOL
