have finally had my plants delivered and set up my tropical aquarium! But Im really surprised at how big the filter is. The tank is a 60l rectangle one and the filter reaches from the bottom to the top! Is it normal for the filter to be so big??
Its called a Juwell bioflow mini and came together with the tank and extras. Im assuming that if the plants all grow in (doubtful about the taller anubias at the back!) that it will be super filtered in that case!!

I have alway had big filters anyway because of the pleco's (messy sods)
but I think the bigger the better
is it adjustable??? if it is just slow the rate of flow down

The Juwel 'Black box' filters (as some call them) have always been big, however the pump flow rate is quite low, making it ideal for live plants as the reduced amount of surface agitation prevents essential CO2 from being driven off.

Oh, thats good!! Its my first tank and I want it to do well. Am planning on slightly understocking with smaller thin bodied fish to keep waste down.
Its actually quite sad that Im enjoying just watching the tank with no fish in!! I like to watch the plants and try to see who is growing well!LOL
