Hi all
Does anyone have a fish tank they don't want that's bigger than a 4 litre fish bowl but still small enough to fit on a windowsill? I don't want a huge one, preferrably big enough to hold 4 -10 baby goldfish. Thanks all. Eddie |

Re: WANTED: Fish Tank (Dagenham, Essex)
Hi, sorry I am too far away to help, but one to fit upto 10 baby goldfish, that is a pond! They grow very very rapidly and need about 80 litres of water EACH. They are honestly not suited to bowls or small tanks. Its ok saying they are babies but they grow very rapidly and will stunt in a small tank/bowl. They do not stop growing but rater become deformed to the point where their internal organs no longer fit in their body causing a painful death. That is without going into the waste issues (goldies are very messy)
Please do some reasearch on goldfish before you get set up with a tank. Kind regards Amy Last edited by Amy-manycats; 07-08-2011 at 04:27 PM.. |

Re: WANTED: Fish Tank (Dagenham, Essex)
Something that's small enough to fit on a windowsill is too small for young goldfish which need good water conditions and enough space if they are to grow and develop normally.
Putting a tank on a windowsill is asking for trouble. Exposure to direct sunlight will cause the water temperature in a small tank to fluctuate wildly; and blooms of green algae will become a problem. |
