Question Which Smell Better Hob Or Jill ?

Hi could anyone tell me which smell better hob or Jill ? , we have 2 hobs, and they stink, they live out in cage, and my son gives them play time twice a day , in which bu the time he comes back in he himself stinks . He has been told by lots of his Friends that Jill's do not smell like his hobs do ?. also they are fighting alot and the one had his ear bitten which bled the other day , we have only had these 2 hobs 2 weeks now , and they are 8 months old. should i have them neutered will this help ? with the fighting (are they playing do you think ) .

hope someone comes along to give me advise thanks in advance .

Re: Which Smell Better Hob Or Jill ?

there play fighting they do this, you will not have trouble unless you put a female unneutered in with them as when she comes into season they will.
you can give them a bath will not hurt them. and the smell with proberly go a bit more if you do get them neutered.
and yes jills dont smell as bad.
would love to see some pic's what colours are they?
we have albino, and sandy jills and 2 polecat, and a sandy hobb.

Hey, umm i dont notice any difference in smelling with ferrets.
ive been around hobs and jills andboth smell the same to me.

Ferrets play "rough" and look as if theyre hurting, and being nasty but its not.
Theyre playing, thats how they play.
They have tough skin so no damage gets done.

if you got more than 1 hob i would say get them neutered, during breeding seasons they can be nasty.

My sister has had house ferrets for years, she has always had girls and gives them regualar baths, they have always loved it running around the bath and getting sprayed with the shower head! They don't smell then

Re: Which Smell Better Hob Or Jill ?

well i have 3 hobs and 2 jills and they all smell the same to me, although one of our hobs doesn't smell as much as the polecat marked ones. They will smell more at this time of year because of Musking, which is pretty much over in a couple of months. Rough play happens but just make sure you dont have any jills in season near you they will start fighting.
