need help please
hi i am 5months pregnant but i have had troble befor with over pregnacys but all i keep getting off people is that the 8 ferrets i have is not safe now for the baby or once the baby is born i have 2 kit's 8weeks old,1 that is 1 year old,2that is 7years old,1 that is 8 years old and 2 that is 9 years old. but i want to put there mid's at rest and there mouths closed it is not as if i will let them next to the baby till it is at lest 3/4years old and they are all in cages and none of them bite me or my husband they nip when we play with them but thats it none of them are aggressive but i just dont no what to do as my dad said while the baby is new born then can go in his shed but none of my family has had ferrets so i put it down to they dont no what they are talking about dont get me roung i wont put there lives at risk as well as the babys but i just need help as this is the last place i can think of about getting advise over wise i would have to get ride of them but i would not wont to do that as there a big part of my life and a part of my little family

You may have to adjust the way your ferrets are kept and make doubly sure that they don't go near baby, but I can't see why you would have to get rid of them.
Do they live in the house? If so, it might be best to get them an outdoor residence ![]() |

![]() Does your OH help with cleaning out, feeding etc? Should be no problem surely if he does. Would they expect you to get rid of a cat, or dog or fish? Not everyone realises that animals are very much 'family'. As long as you can cope there is no need to get rid of them. My ferrets are house ferrets and are allowed everywhere (except bathroom and toilet) Get a baby gate and modify it so you can have ferret free space ![]() |
