fostering??

hello everybody :thumbup1:

i am thinking about fostering guinea pigs for the rspca.

has anybody got any experience of fostering and did you enjoy it?

any opinions/comments would be great! :)

tank/cage sizes..

im considering getting another couple of hamsters (probably roborovskis)....

i have had russians/syrians and robos before but always had them in cages...
but
i have a spare tank which is about 16 inches long - 12 inches wide and a good 12 or so inches tall....

is this big enough for 2 robos? i would say 1 but they are better in pairs right??

went to clean our mouse out today and he has a massive lump on his side of his neck. rang pdsa and they told us to get him there which my OH has done. my OH jus rang and theyve said its almost deffo a tumor and theyve drained it off as best they can but they said to prepare ourselves for it to be near end. i wondered what was taking her so long :( shes been there since half eight this morning. going to pop to pet shop get him some treats and let him settle down in his nice clean cage. :(

Just wanted to know what makes a good small animal breeder and what makes a bad breeder
I know that quite an open question really, but any thoughts would be appreciated

It's my Nemo's 6th Birthday today.
Here he is, just took these today.

He's the oldest piggy I've ever had and my favourite cos he's so tame..:D

guinea pig and nuts

ok so my daughter has a guinea pig and it can eat and eat lol but all i feed him is hay ,a very good guinea pig food and fresh fruit , but i was just sitting eating some monkey nuts wondering if he can eat them ? the only reason i ask is i dont want to give the little chap some thing that could hurt him

hi peeps just got our first hedgehog today a 6 month old albino called marshmellow!!

basicly its 745 and where wondering if its wise to wake her up and try and tame her on the first night or just to leave her be and let her find her feet as such, shes been shy/tired all day which is expected i spose, also what sort of time do they normaly wake up in the evening??

Hi Everyone!
Just thought id let you know I saw a bargain yesterday!

A desent size (a bout a cat or rabbit size) Pet Bed, lovely paw print design and it was only �5 :D

Mums going to pick me one up today as i didnt have enough money on me yesterday.

I saw it at a Morrisons Petrol station (Not in Store) For some reason they dont sell them instore :shocked: but they had afew in the petrol station paying place.

Anyway just thought id let you know and ill post pictures of mine when i get it later. Thought it would be a bargain for Rabbit owners :D (Esp if you have a �5 voucher from buying petrol with morrisons miles cards :)) x

Okay I seem to be going through a maternal phase and so want to look after as many animals as possible. I have two hooli...umm I mean cats but I have been eyeing up some hamsters :rolleyes:

I really must resist so need some help with this resisting bit please :D

Bonfire Night and Guinea Pigs??

I have got two Guinea Pigs who live outside in the spring/summer/autumn and come inside during the colder months. I have brought them inside for today-monday for the Bonfire Night period. They are in their indoor cage now but the fireworks are still very loud and they have been making very nervous squeaks. I have shoved the radio on but they are still gettin scared when the fireworks start. Anyone have any other idea's to help stopping them getting scared?? xx

Hi normally Im in the cat section:o but I will soon be getting 2 Russian Dwarf Hamsters :D I have bought their home ready and some books to read up but would like any advice possible on the best bedding to get and any tips on looking after them - they are for my two step children but I will be mostly looking after them.

Before I came to this forum I was quite content with my 3 rats and 1 cat. Now I want guinea pigs and hamsters and rabbits and pygmy hedgehogs and gerbils and degus and more rats!! I can't afford to buy cages for them all!! :eek:
