Hi all
as some of you know I am new to showing and attended my first official gccf show on sat. I am still getting confused to the BOB and BIS judging.

1) BOB I notice that Ollie got 1st in his open class (there were two silver mc's) and then another kitten got BOB who wasn't in the same class as she was a female in a class of her own. So would they of added all the cats in the whole MC section together to pick the BOB? Just looked on cat planet and this can't eb the case as there are a few BOB??? I'm confused:confused5:

BIS now do they choose one cat or kitten from each pedigree i.e 1 persian, 1 pet, 1 MC etc???? When I went to my first show (pet south ribble show) there was a BIS kitten, junior and adult whcih was ncie and clear but at yesterday's show there was one kitten (kiliper's eyptian mau and gorgous!) and then all the others were adults but differant breeds. At a point in the day a certain lady came up to me and said that it hadn't been annoounced yet but my Stan had got BIS kitten but then when the time came another cat was choosen (and went on to win though!) Now how do they choose the BIS cats, does each judge choose their won and the results added together? Confused here too?:confused5:

Now last quick question is about all the champion status things, haven't got a clue at all about these so any advice at all would be very useful.

Sorry to bother everyone again but it is all so confusing!!
Thanks
Allison

I have two more sets of drapes for sale. I am asking for £30 per set plus p+p. One is a cream and ivory set and the other is a rainbow set including a lovely bed. I cannot use these drapes over here as the pens are a different size,it seems a shame they are going to go to waste. The rainbow set has only been used once as have the cream set.

Photos on request.

Her half brother Alfie got 3rd and 3rd in the sides, I was a little dissapointed to be honest , but we had a disaster with his coat last week when a vet combed right down his back with a flea comb!!
I had a chat with his judge after, she said he was just against stiff competition, she liked his coat colour and eye colour so hopefully next year when he is a little older he will do a little better :)

Welldone to everyone showing yesterday:thumbup1:

Have nearly finished the themed pens, just some remaining sewing and finishing Indy's background. Am frantically playing with Indy as he's gone a bit podgey and I want him at his sleek panthery best :p

The boys are booked in for grooming and claws clipping the week before the show (how do indoor cats get so grubby on the white bits?)... as I am doing animal grooming at college I am taking them there for cheap help, though they behave for me to do them this is easier and works towards class experience...

Also it gives them a meet and greet with strangers before I take them aanywhere, they haven't seen anyone outside the family for weeks.

My suitcase is packed... that way only need to worry about the boys things.

I'm going to go and cry in the corner now... don't wanna go now!
I plan on going but it's my first time at a show. What time does it open to the public and would I pay on the door. Can't seem to find info on their website.
What kinds of things would I expect. I'm quite excited.

I have a block of rooms booked at the Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport but need to release any not required by this coming Friday at the latest. Before I do I thought I would see if anyone wanted to take one. The hotel takes cats at £5 a night per cat and is about 5 to 20 minutes drive only from the NEC. I have singles and twins only left.

If anyone is interested please email or pm me before Thursday this week, even if just initially to enquire about room rates, not the cheapest around but VERY convenient and the food, if the last couple of years is anything to go by, is fab!

AC NON PEDIGREE GRAND MASTER (IMPERIAL) FEMALE
This was probably the most difficult task of the day. All 3 girls were equally matched and of exceptional quality, and each deserved an IGMC. However, I had to make a decision and I felt I had to introduce an additional criterion to enable me to do so, which was boldness.
IGMC - Miss Creaton & Miss Walker’s GMC Rainbow Dreamcatcher. FN 4yr 6mth: A neat little short-haired calico tortie & white girl with a Cindy Crawford-style beauty spot that enhanced her appealing expression. Beautifully groomed and shown in lovely condition her body was very strong and so was her tail! This girl was very confident and loving; all she wanted to do was sit on my shoulder and snuggle up. When Denise tried to put her back in her pen she was determined to climb onto Denise’s shoulder to stay and chat to us! A well-earned Imperial GM certificate today in the face of incredibly strong competition.

1. Are there different types of registration with the GCCF? Is any specific type required for showing?

2. Do breeders sell kittens specifically for showing/not showing?

3. What on earth goes on with all these classes? I've seen a few schedules online, but have no idea how to read them. I looked at the schedule of classes for a show online (can't remember which), and tried to imagine I had a BSH kitten. I would have had absolutely no clue whatsoever about what classes to enter. How do I learn about this stuff?

4. What's a good age (of the cat!) to start showing?

5. How do I find out how a breed is judged, so I have some idea what to look for in a kitten? Specifically, BSH?

Many thanks for any guidance.

There isnt many shows in my area can i take her to a show from a cat club that is nothing to do with a chinchilla like a short haird or a siamese club show or does it have to be a chinchilla cat club show? Also what classes am are to put her in ? She will hopefully still be a kitten if i can find a show soon enough.

I took Mitzi to the Yorkshire on Saturday (she is now a Champion :D )

Got the carrier out the car only to find Basil was in there as well, the silly clot! I had wondered why Mitzi was reluctant to go into the carrier (only a small one) and then why she was growling in the car, I was feeling guilty thinking perhaps she didn't like shows after all. It was a bit of a shock when I got her out the car and realised there were two cats in there!

It gave the vet's steward a good laugh if nothing else but Basil had to spend the day in isolation. It served him right though!
