Well I did want all of Serafina's kittens (who wouldn't ) I still do.. but realisticly I'm not sure it's really the smartest of ideas. :o.

So I after a lot of thought I have settled on a compromise and that is I will keep one. As Leviticus is the only boy I thought (very human of me ;)) that it would be nice to have another boy in the house. So Gatsby is staying :D. Believe me I've spent the past two days umming and arring over who I should keep but now I have decided Gatsby I won't let myself change my mind!!

I think itd be nice to keep one of her kittens and it would be impossible to let them all go.

So looks like I have a job to do. Got to find a homes for three kittens (but not for a while yet) :)

I guess it is a bit of a relief to remember they do say its harder for the carer for the pet than it is for the pet when they have to move on. arh -sigh-

My cats birthing went well and were no problems but i wanted any advice from experienced breeders should anything go wrong.

Firstly i have heard that persian kittens can have trouble breathing due to flat faces(dont know if this is true).
Also what is the best way to sever the cord should mum decided not to.

She is quite big so expecting maybe 5 where as my cat had three both times.

Hi everyone,

Me again! My kittens are just shy of 9 weeks. They are eating solids well enough but are only interested in tuna, salmon or white fish. They started on this sort of by accidnet as I had anoher cat with a sensitive tummy who was having cooked fish and rice. I have tried mixing wet kitten food in with the fish bt only one of the kittens will eat it the rest just pick out the fish. Im hoping to get them onto normal kitten food before they go to their new homes any ideas?

Thanks

This has got me thinking about it. I wouldn't just go ahead do it without doing lots of research etc, but when she is 1 in July do I seriously consider letting her have a litter or go ahead with my original plan to get her spayed after xmas?

Hi Guys,

My BSH queen Blossom had a litter (her first) they are now 8 and a half weeks. At what age do you let your girls back outside in their pens? Blossom seems ready for a break from them and she isnt feeding them anymore (even though they try she brushes them off) She has obviously lost weight and a bit of condition and I would love to stat building her up again. Would it help if she went back outside?

Let me know what you all think and what you do with your own queens. Many Thanks

i have been to the vets for some advice today as I only saw mamma cat feed her kittens once for a very short time yesterday despite checking on them every hour as I usually do. I havn't seen her feed them today not even once. The kittens are healthy curld up together and moving about as much as two week old kittens do (i think).

The vets advised me to use kitten formula and syringes and to go in for a consultation at 1. Only problem is I don't have any money untill Friday. I feel so guilty.

I've bought some cow and gate from birth milk (substitute for breast milk). I looked for goats milk, couldn't find any and know that cows milk won't be good for them?? Is the cow and gate stuff ok??

I put it in a saucer but ofcourse non of them will take it being so young. What else could I use instead of a syringe?

I don't want these babies to go downhill. I am sitting in my room with the kits now and mamma cat. Mamma cat is on the other side of the room looking at them. When I go and take her to the bed she has no interest and saunters off with her tail in the air. A similiar reaction happens if I take one of them to her. They need her they mew to her and try to get close to her but she doesn't pay any attetntion :(.

The babys are a little sticky with urine as Mamma isn't cleaning them anymore. I will have to delicately wash them.

I hope they'll be ok. I've been so worried today, I was even thinking maybe they would do better with an emergency fosterer as I don't have the funds until Friday to give them the care they need. BUt please no I don't want that. I want to look after them. I want them to be healthy.

I just want to do the right thing for them.. :( HELP

Thank heavens Nefertiti's tummy upset has settled.. :)

:confused:Hi everyone:confused:

I am after some advice please about my cat Midget. On the 12th September she was involved in an RTA when she recieved a broken leg. This is now healing well. The problem is she acting very strange. She seems to be constantly cleaning herself all over, laying flatout meowing sweetly sitting on floor with her bottom slighty raised, She doesnt seem in any pain.

I looked at her bottom this morning and there was a tiny bit of clear dishcharge but nothing else. Her nipple are obvious when I pick her up and there pink ish, not sure if the hair gone from around them though... Her tummy is not overly larger in size, although she is a little cat.

She has not been out side since stated date, so I have worked it out she could be due sometime this week...

Does she sound pregnant?

Thanks for reading

:confused::confused::confused:...

Hello all,

I'm somewhat new here and I'm so glad to have found this forum.

I have an unusual situation with my recently spayed female cat. She is a rescue kitten and has been with me for a few months. All my cats are kept inside with access to an outdoor enclosed area that prevents them from getting outside to the street.

Right after this new arrival had her first heat, I took her to the vet to be spayed. Unknown to me, she was about 15 days pregnant when this was done. Had I even a suspicion this was even possible I would never have had the sterilization done. I was shocked to learn it because she had no access to the outdoors whatsoever. However, upon returning home, I found a gaping hole in the chicken wire that the Tom had actually torn open (amazing). It was immediately repaired.

Now, that said, this cat that was spayed is showing signs, or what appear to be signs, of pregnancy. Her nipples appear engorged with milk but I don't really notice any weight gain. All my cats are at a normal weight for their size. Her behavior, appetite, activity is all normal, except I noticed that she goes into a near trance to have her belly stroked. I don't know if it is possible that a kitten or kittens survived in spite of the removal of her ovaries, or if it's a possibility that her hormones have not returned to normal because she was pregnant at the time, but I intend to speak today with the vet.

I am very careful with my cats to make sure they are vaccinated, wormed, exercised, groomed, spayed/neutered, not allowed outside of their enclosed area, etc., so this is a strange situation for me.

Also, I am in Chile and to be honest, veterinary care here is well... a bit different, so I'm just not sure what to make of this whole thing. Anyone know if it's even possible that kittens could have survived the procedure? I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this before???

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would share some experience with me. I have started breeding BSH (after much research and consideration) I have had litters using outside studs but have taken the plunge and got my own stud who I must say is gorgeous! He is now 7 months old. At what age do male cats start maturing and when is the best age to try him with a queen? Particularly would like to hear form other BSH breeders as I find their advice so valuable to have.

Thanks so much....

To briefly explain the problem, I got a new kitten 4 weeks ago called Emleigh who was approx 6 months old.
Last monday i took her to the vet as she had a very hard swollen tummy. I was concerned it could be worms, even though she had been treated..
BUT i was told she was pregnant.. and approx 7-8 weeks.. the vet said she felt one and it was in the uterus, she said although she is young, she is very fit and healthy, gave me some advice and told me to book a scan in if i wanted. (but at £50 i didnt think it was worthwhile when she said all it would do is tell me how many)
Now, her tummy isnt solid, although still big. Her nipples stand out (but im unsure what they were like before) but she hasnt lost any hair around them.. if anything, her fur underneath seems thicker.
I think i may have felt movement today, but again, not sure and could it be wind? She doesnt look like any of the other cats on various websites that are expecting..
im presuming the vet couldnt get it wrong, but everything i have read states the tummy will get bigger and harder? and hers is definately not as solid. She is eating a lot and drinking, and for the past 2 weeks has been using her litter tray more..
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
