The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a breed apart. They are known as the "Nanny Dog" because of their affection for children.They thrive on human company. They are the 5th most popular breed in the UK and have high entries in the Terrier Dog Group at Dog Shows. They are loving loyal and highly intelligent.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers originated from the 19th century in Staffordshire, Britain. The breed began when breeders started mixing bulldogs and terriers to produce the perfect dog for fluff baiting. As people lost curiosity about bull baiting, the breed began becoming less common. In the first 20th century, however, Staffordshire Bull Terriers became popular again in the usa.

SBT have thick and broad heads with a stocky frame and a long thin tail they also have a smooth short coat and are bred in the colours blue, brindle, red, black and white and any of the previously mentioned with white patches.

Apartment living is fine for that Staffordshire Bull Terrier so long as he receives enough exercise. he doesn't need a large yard, a small yard will work. However, he does require lots of exercise and should be on a leash or he's apt to run off by himself adventure.

He will need to be brushed from time to time with a firm bristled clean and bathed when needed. To ensure you rid him or her of the loose hairs you will have to towel dry this coat following the bath.

Training should begin when the actual Staffordshire is a pup at any given time when he is quick to understand.

Maintaining the coat from the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is easy. This breed has a sleek coat that only requires normal brushing.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier takes a dominant owner and needs earlier and intense socialization and behavior training training. They are easily housetrained. It's absolutely crucial that all training of the breed be done in an optimistic, consistent, patient, and firm method. They excel in agility and obedience competition and also have had success as therapy canines.
