I would like to start collecting information about Hemorrhagic GastroEnteritis (HGE) in Dogs. I have three female Miniature Schnauzers at the present, two of them suffer with this complaint. One more than the other, but I have also previously had a dog that sufferred badly. At the moment my dogs are fine, they are on a prescription diet, but I am always wondering when the next episode is to appear. I have become very sensitive to their moods and can diagnose when they are feeling the slightest bit unwell, but this in itself is very tiring. I am always watching them, making sure they don't scavange food in parks etc. I would like to hear from others that have a dog susceptible to this illness and would like to know of any foods / treatments that seem to help.
