Re: how many times a day to walk my dog?

I tried training her inside today, on a lead, with some tasty chicken treats in hand... it went fine but after a while she started biting on the lead, she cannot stand it!
We started our second walk on a short lead but she was already too excited to be paying any attention to me, so I decided to put a longer lead on, I didn't want to strangle her... She scratches her neck where the collar is - and it is a soft padded thing... I sometimes think she has a split personality!
I mean, there has got to be a way to teach a hyper 6-month-old puppy to walk without pulling, I know there is a way... so I keep trying.

twice a day from 30 minutes to 45 minutes off lead.

You will be able to tell if you are talking your dog for too long a walk and if its panting etc. You have a very high energy dog there which needs a walk before breakfast and soon after you come home (if you are a 9 to 5 worker).

Anxiety usually starts with not being sufficiently walked in the morning off lead so they can use all of their senses and be socialized.
