Would there still be demand for dog walkers after 3pm? as I am a college student but im interested in dog walking.

Possibly by shift workers but I would think it's very limited demand

I think you'll struggle finding people who need their dog walked after then. Spread the word through friends and family and see - you never know.

in warm areas people walk dogs in the morning to escape the heat and wear the dog out, so it rests during the day.

A lot of families are also busy after work and if you can pitch yourself at the right market in your flyers you may capture a good market. Even if you do mini walks around the block for less money.

You may get some ad hoc evening walkers - I find I do but not many. For example a dog who is used to 2 walks a day but is staying with a family member while the owner is away will need an evening walk, and there is one I walk on an ad hoc basis who normally has an evening walk from the owner but if he is working away or really busy then I do it instead...

If you market yourself as 'available between x and y' this will set up expectations

I do have some clients who want walks at that time, but most of the clients I walk at that time have had to wait because I can't fit them in any earlier. My breakfast and lunch walks are always full, but not an afternoon walk.

Have you tried contacting an established dog walker? I know by 3pm I'm absolutely shattered and have had to turn work down because I just can't manage any more walking without feeling I'm doing the dog a bad deal.

I have found that at xmas time the majority of people dont want or cant afford a morning walk and afternoon visit for feeding, so I often pitch a block walk, garden water and play in their back yard with my dog.

because you are only servicing one dog, you will want to keep the fee about the same as for a morning walk, but the time is typically reduced to about 15-20 min. If you figure in insurances, petrol and the cost of your time, including travel. YOu will see this is a fair solution for both you and the client.

The night visit can settle the dog for the evening, but is mostly about getting them fed with a little bit of play.

This is totally depending on the energy level and physical fitness of the dogs. But, two times walk is best for your dog.
Might be you don't have time much to take him to walk. Just Take him to walk one time in morning for at least 30-40 minutes.

It does really depend on the person. Sometimes you may get the older generation wanting afternoon/evening walks as they can't manage it themselves or just don't want to be out after a certain time. Best thing to do is to design a flyer and post it around - word of mouth may spread and you may find those busy individuals may need a hand!
