Best type of bed for chewing pup

Hi all, thanks for all the help on issues so far with our little/big 7 month lab. We bought a soft cushion bed from the RSPCA for him which he has managed to chew open in a week so all the stuffing has come out. Any ideas on what type of bed would be best for him? He did this at night so we unfortunaely cant remove it from him when he is on his own.

Re: Best type of bed for chewing pup

at his age his gonna chew what ever bed you give him to sleep in

i give pups a plastic bed with some vetbed in it or in a crate with vetbed its cheap and if they chew it can be replaced easy and easy to wash quick to dry.
then when they are grown up and dont chew you can get a nicer bed.

We got Bailey a Rogz bed when we got him and he's now 8 months old and still looks new. Very hard wearing and look good too, only downfall was the price a little expensive but if it lasts him it will be worth every pennyxx

Re: Best type of bed for chewing pup

I usually buy the hard plastic virtually indestructable dog beds and put a blanket in.

For my dog Duke I bought a petmate bed from Pets at Home. Its a large square, metal frame with legs, the material is strong canvas with a padded base. I put blankets in it at first, then an old quilt and now he has a fluffy dog pad in it.

Re: Best type of bed for chewing pup

Katie has the same bed that she had as a pup. It's a tough plasic one with the chew marks still on it.

Re: Best type of bed for chewing pup

We put our pups bed inside the cardboard box that they came in when we first got them, they chewed the boxes instead of their beds. They don't chew anything other than their RMB's and toys now.

Re: Best type of bed for chewing pup

My pup has the plastic bed too.
One like this:

She tries to chew it sometimes but she isn't strong enough to brake any pieces off. She also has a cushion in there or a blanket, sometimes nothing and she seems fine

Re: Best type of bed for chewing pup

Kay thats the same type as Katies, it stood up well to being chewed. It's hardly got a mark on it tbh. The only problem we've had is that she needs a cover in the bottom incase her claws get into the slits, on and the hair underneath when she's in a heavy moult.
