Best type of bed for chewing pup
Hi all, thanks for all the help on issues so far with our little/big 7 month lab. We bought a soft cushion bed from the RSPCA for him which he has managed to chew open in a week so all the stuffing has come out. Any ideas on what type of bed would be best for him? He did this at night so we unfortunaely cant remove it from him when he is on his own.

Re: Best type of bed for chewing pup
I usually buy the hard plastic virtually indestructable dog beds and put a blanket in.
For my dog Duke I bought a petmate bed from Pets at Home. Its a large square, metal frame with legs, the material is strong canvas with a padded base. I put blankets in it at first, then an old quilt and now he has a fluffy dog pad in it. Sue |

Re: Best type of bed for chewing pup
My pup has the plastic bed too.
One like this: ![]() She tries to chew it sometimes but she isn't strong enough to brake any pieces off. She also has a cushion in there or a blanket, sometimes nothing and she seems fine ![]() |

Re: Best type of bed for chewing pup
Kay thats the same type as Katies, it stood up well to being chewed. It's hardly got a mark on it tbh. The only problem we've had is that she needs a cover in the bottom incase her claws get into the slits, on and the hair underneath when she's in a heavy moult.
