Question does anyone have the answer

hi all
as some of you know i have 2 toy poodles, mia and kai. they are both house trained BUT..every time i leave them out of their crate they will poo or pee.
yesterday evening we went out for about an hour and a half, now i'd made sure thhey went in the garden first to go to the toilet, which they both did, and i thought it being so nice weather wise i'd leave them out of their crate.when we came back they had peed for england lol.the other thing they will do is drag their rug out of their crate and pee on it.we are totaly puzzled. the only thing i can think of is they feel secure locked in their crate when we are not with them....any answers?

Re: does anyone have the answer

they are used to being in the cage when you go out. and feel safe
so just shut them in the cage when you go out.

Re: does anyone have the answer

Poodles are very clingy dogs and attach themselves very quickly 6 of mine will gladly go in their crates when i go out but 1 would howl and howl if i left him. I had the same prob as u at one time but i know leave the portable tv on in the kitchen for mine and they tend to relax more now
