Oh dear! Have you had your boy from a puppy? It may help sticking to the same routine every night! Try him in a basket in your bedroom if your oh will let you! Other than that leave him where he is and give him a toy and some treats at night! Do you put an item of your clothing in so he can still smell you? May help! Good luck! Let us know how you get on!

Afraid that won't help things, he needs a set routine and one where you are going to be firm with him giving in to him although may be easy isn't for him in the long run. Think if my husband said I would have to rehome my dog, I would look at getting rid of him first

Re: help stop my dog ending up in a dogs home

How long have you had the dog for ? and how long has he been crying all night ? Has anything changed in the family home to upset his routine such as a new member or new routine ? how long do you try to perservere with the things you have already tried ?
Dogs are like children and know how to get what they want and its obviousely you he wants , when you carated him how did you go about getting him used to it or did you just put him in expecting him to be ok ! and how long did you try for . Sorry for all the questions but it gives people a better idea of where you may be going wrong .

Re: help stop my dog ending up in a dogs home

I have had him for four yrs he is 5 nearly .i moved to a new house a year ago and he has been noisier since but my other half got made redundant two months ago and that was almost when he started really playing up i leave what ever top i have worn in his bed with him but that worked at first but he seems to want me around him to sleep but my partner wont allow him up in the bedroom , he will go into his cage quite happily and will sleep in it during the day but he hates night times i have tried covering the cage to blacken out but that only worked for a while . my partner has just got a new job he statrs tomorrow so i hope having no one around the house all the time will settle him down as i work part time .
