Re: Amazing 10 Lesson To Train Your Dog!

He uses techniques such as they use in Dog Borstal for walking without pulling i.e. dropping the slack lead and turning the other way so that when the lead pulls tight it pulls the dog's neck. Nice.

He also speaks to dogs in Doglish!!!!! I believe this will be intorduced in the National Curriculum as a second choice language G.C.S.E. Should be a piece of cake to teach as kids love watching DVDs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KOlC7PKuGc

The woman chasing her dog around the room shouting for it to "Stop!" is priceless.

I think in the UK you guys probably miss the most hilarious aspect of the Cillit Bang adverts - voice dubbing! The ads here in the Netherlands have the WORST dubbing job EVER with mouths moving long after the spoken Dutch part has ended - they're completely hilarious

I cant find anything info in regards to this. Does he reward? Does he use correction/punishment?

This is the closest ive found so far, of a video showing his training technique.

YouTube - Bogart & Russian Dog Wizard Part1
In the mid 80's there was a trend in schutzhund and other protection sports, they were trying ot move out of pure punishment so the trend to reward the dog immediately after the punishment to avoid driving them into shutting down.

Based on the dog's behavior and the guys language he's a command/alpha ijeet trainer that uses food for the reason above.

Ha!!!! I called it. He's a schutzhund trainer from the 80s and hasn't evolved since then.

Yes we have that too - not just Cillit Bang but Febreeze, Odor Eaters, in fact they always seem to be freshening/household cleaning products. Got to admire the folks who are asked to try & edit these ads to fit a British voiceover though, it's not an easy job!

Re: Amazing 10 Lesson To Train Your Dog!

Bit off topic, but one day I was in the supermarket with my then 3 year old.

She suddenly got very excited pointing and saying....

'Look Mummy, Look, over there, LOOK!'...

I looked, expecting to see something amazing, but nothing..

' What is it?, what can you see?' I asked

'Mummy look there.....Cillit Bang!!!'

Needless to say, I started to monitor her tv consumption after that!
