Question 2 clips: pos-P vs pos-R - which looks effective, enjoyable and efficient?

which looks like an ongoing mizry for both parties -
unless of course U happen to be a sadist, and are always the one carrying the handcuffs and cat-o-9-tails at Hallowe'en and happy to spank others!

YouTube - How to Train your Dog to Hunt Birds : Use Bird Dog Obedience Training at Home
he corrects the dog frequently and harshly
he NEVER praises or rewards
he makes the dog SIT by whacking with the other end of the lead...
great way to make the dog *hate!* leashes, and fear humans.
&%$#@!, what a $%#! son of a @#!&*%$#....

Compare and contrast...
look at how enthusiastically these dogs work, and for a very-tiny treat or a tug-session. This is not so much work as PLAY -
and playing with her is fun and rewarding, as well as educational.
YouTube - Heeling Video

which dog would U rather be?...

Re: 2 clips: pos-P vs pos-R - which looks effective, enjoyable and efficient?

I deffo know which one i prefer i hate all these stupid gadgets to try and gain desired behaviour thru fear induced pain.

The thing that annoys me the most is why owners arnt willing to put the hard graft into training there dogs in a kind and effective manor i mean how hard is it really all u need is patience and motivation!!!

My boy is so pleasant to walk and such a good lad and all this came from me and him working together as a team thats what owning a dog is all about building a mutal respect 4 one another and being best buddys 4 life.

I hate any bully tactics on dogs and have encountered many clients that have used certain gadgets and AKA cesar milan Methods on there dogs to try and gain desired behaviour and to be quite honest nothing surprises me these days if owners just treated there dog as there mate and part of there family with a good structure routine everything else would fall into place.

Re: 2 clips: pos-P vs pos-R - which looks effective, enjoyable and efficient?

I train with D the same as the second vid, he loves it, i also use patience if i ask for a sit and he is being a teenager, i wait, and wait, and wait, he will do as i ask, then he is praised, same with pulling, if he has Brain fart and wants to pull, i stand still....i set off after he comes back to me, and looks into my face, he pulls we stop again, and i wait, till he comes back and acknowledges me. He is pretty good know, just the odd day he is a pain in the butt lol, typical teenager on occassion. But he is good walking in close now most of the time.

Cool Re: 2 clips: pos-P vs pos-R - which looks effective, enjoyable and efficient?

That poor, poor dog in the first video! Just look at her facial expression and body language. Poor soul. It is horrendous what still passes for training even now. The second video shows well trained dogs relaxing and having fun whilst training. That's how it should be! The first 'trainer' ought to give up dogs altogether and give his poor dog to the second trainer!

Re: 2 clips: pos-P vs pos-R - which looks effective, enjoyable and efficient?

Someone should use a pinch collar and hit the first trainer on the bum with a lead and see if it "bothers him"!
That poor dog...... she looks terrified of him and when he tried to put the choke chain on and it was in her mouth, he didn't even realise to begin with. What a total pillock!
Second one could train my dogs any day!!!

Some of the trainers out there are just shocking, I train mine myself, im not by any means an expert, i dont claim to be, but you have to be so careful dont you, I havent found a class by me, yet that i want to go to even though i have looked
