Question the Marley-couple: eejits abound... apparently they do not learn much, either!

lets hope that all of U are far-better students of dogs than are the owners of Marley, LOL...
having lived with a pet-lines Lab, and learned something about living with dogs - altho
not much,
mostly about the inevitable fallout of their own poor decisions re the dog...
what did they DO next?

the bleedin-dingbat eejits got a hunting-lines Lab bitch... for their suburban RANCHETTE... where they keep... Wait for it... a home flock of chickens, and the pup has already killed at least one...
and then they had Cesar advise them on how to deal with, and TRAIN, this hard-driving, predatory, hot-shot, mouthy, active, demanding, athletic, UNDER-exercised puppy from hunting-lines, in a PET * HOME...
Quote:
words fail me; i think they are complete and total prats, and i am sincerely sorry
for the poor bitch, who drew this nitwit couple in her life-lottery.

Marley did his best to teach them - they managed to erase every lesson but his joy in life,
and his affection... and then they chose an =even-WORSE= puppy-prospect as his current successor?!
Quote:
good grief! (buries clenched fingers in hair and rhythmically thumps forehead on desk...)
Quote:
In My Opinion -
they - did - not - learn - ANYthing.

Poor dog! and stoopid ppl, who keep making the same dam*ed error - too much DOG; they are too much
of a Pet-Home for a HUNTING-bred pup; they have too-little DOG-savvy to simply cope with her, let alone
give her the care + exercise + training + *work* she needs, today and today and today and today...
for approx the next 12 to 16 ** years**...

Quote:
POLL - Score the dingb... errmm, Marley-couple!
So - whadda U think, LOL? are they just well-paid, well-intended eejits?
or are they criminally irresponsible role-models of how NOT to *choose, *train, * manage, *house, *rear,
*exercise, etcetera, A Dog?
inquiring minds want to know...
please choose ONE only, thanks! answers A thru G -
a) I think they are both angels, and that puppy is just adorable...

b) they are perfectly-normal urban/suburban pet-owners - (shrug)
no worse nor better than the average... bland and a bit sad, really

c) they are well-heeled + think (wrongly) that a More-Expen$ive pup = a better dog for any home...
vs predicting that a hunt-lines Lab would be even Worse! re exercise needs, boredom, predatory, etc.

d) they should have learned something more from Puppy-into-Dog #1 -
a disappointing performance, but not surprising

e) they have resources the Average-Pet-Owner wots not -
and should be using them better (consult a REAL trainer not a TV-personality,
ask the ASPCA for help choosing an apropos breed/individual dog...)
after all they are New-Yorkers...
using the urb-scape to advantage should be second-nature, there is a standard to uphold here!...

f) they are criminally-irresponsible, and have failed in their duties as high-profile, well-educated, urbane
pet-owners, to EDUCATE and model Responsible Pet-Ownership - which begins by choosing an apropos
breed, type, species or individual!, to fit YOUR lifestyle and home-setting.
they should be performing community service, helping to match homeless pets with Best-Fit homes,
so that others do not make the same egregious errors.

g) they cannot possibly have screwed-up that badly ACCIDENTALLY - they did it on purpose,
as research for another confessional-comedy book, and should be publicly flogged for inflicting
an inapropos home on a hunting-lines gundog pup for their eventual profit!
the hunt-lines pup should be re-homed to someone with a JOB for her - arson detection, SAR,
contraband-search, a tender for an active autistic-child, or some other outlet and function.

I didn't go and see the film or read the book because I understood from the reviews that the owners were complete pr*ts.

Thumbs up Re: the Marley-couple: voting NO with a wallet! Good on ya!

WOW, U went the extra-mile - it is hard to resist a multi-million-$$ ad-campaign,
with incredible market penetration + 'appealing' family friendly script!
> Click! <

so many, many people bought the book, went to the film, chatted both up to everyone they met,
and only saw it as *cute*... well, not so much... ~ sigh... ~
as a trainer, i think it was pretty destructive.

Re: the Marley-couple: eejits abound... apparently they do not learn much, either!

formatting was difficult to read. I had to dragondrop it to my text editor to read it.

I never ever read the book, from the reviews it was clear that the people had no interest in training their dog. What they wanted from a dog could have been found in a stuffed toy.

I'm confused. Never read the book or seen the film. Something about a lab dying?

Re: the Marley-couple: eejits abound... apparently they do not learn much, either!

I saw them on Dog Whisperer and was banging my head off the wall the whole time. Who the hell buys a dog from bird-hunting lines when you have birds? I felt so sorry for Marley as well his idea of training the dog to walk on the lead yank so hard on the choke chain the huge labrador is yanked off his feet gasping for air. No wonder the dog had issues they were incompetent

Lightbulb Re: What was the book / film about? 1st-home, 1st-pet, young love...

its about a young couple who have zero dog-savvy, living in NYC...
with a tiny apt, natch!, getting a Lab puppy as their first living dependent...
and all of the Awful but Awfully Funny stuff the dog does, causes, drags them into, forces them to do, etc.

its a sit-com but feature-length; the dog is for jokes and sentiment.
and BAD, bad!! dog-management + handling + rearing + training + EVERYthing!
