No, not exactly. You don't have to read any of them.

Why so? the people involved on this particular thread are knowledgeable and genuine, & there's been no disrespect or aggro on any fronts thus far. Perhaps it's needed for some people to have a place where we can share knowledge on this, without it getting heated. I think that's been the case til now on here... I appreciate the space to discuss it. If you have a grievance then you are entirely welcome to start a new thread.... No disrespect to you.

It is possible for people to debate in a civilised manner. It is when people get personal and rude about each other that threads turn nasty. If we all remain civilised and engage in friendly discussion then there is no reason why any thread should turn nasty.

Smile from the wrists down people!

[QUOTE=CarolineH;1188697]From what I have seen of videos I have found of his on Youtube so far, I wouldcertainly say so! YouTube - Dog Whisperer- Kenneling

i wish it was so simple to teach her NOT TO KILL anything that moves when outside!!! she's so scared...god knows what had happened to her!

Cool Re: CM/DW on the Grand-Tour of UK-talkies ;-)

On the 6th of September 2006, the American Human Association made this statement about CMs methods - 'Dog Whisperer' Training Approach More Harmful Than Helpful where they (quote) expressed dismay over the “numerous inhumane training techniques” advocated by Cesar Millan on “Dog Whisperer.” (end of quote)

On the 26th of November this year, Cesar Milan appeared on BBC Breakfast news here - BBC News - Breakfast - The Dog Whisperer's UK Tour Fast forward to about 3.00 minutes and you will hear him say in response to this condemnation of his methods that he invited the American Humane Association to come to the set to watch what he did and they 'changed their state of mind about what is cruel. This is, according to the American Humane Association, completely untrue and they are going to investigate this further. I did not contact them myself but several people on another forum did so and all received the same reply. The AHA also promised to update them on their 'investigation' via email in the future.

Hmmm!

Cesar speaking on BBC Breakfast
hey, caroline! :--)

yes, i heard him say that - and my immediate instinctive response was,
oh No, they didn;t!

i went to the AHA website, there has been NO! change in their evaluation or condemnation of harsh handling, aversive tools, intimidation of an animal with overt or covert threats, etc, by ANYbody - whether Cesar, Pattison, the Borstal-clots, or any other performer who has animals on the set, or in the performance.

more specifically, there has been No Change whatever in the AHA re Cesar Millan and the Natl-Geo *Dog Whisperer* program - it is STILL regarded as inhumane, confrontational, advocating dangerous tactics that are likely to result in bites, etc, and he STILL does Not! have the AHA stamp of approval on his show.

and unless he changes his methods - he will * never * get the AHA-approval.

i hope they task him on his oh-so-casual statement - AHA has not changed their decision.
and Cesar has not changed his behavior...

waiting to hear from the AHA,
--- terry

I dare say that this may cause the AHA to 'reinforce' their condemnation of his methods too! He needs a good Alpha rolling!

I doubt very much whether he needs or wants AHA approval.
He seems to be doing very nicely without it.
